I Was Forced to Join a Dating Show with My Ex

The blurb is just something I threw together.

As a celebrity with a mountain of scandals,

Rao Fei's most common comment is, "Rao Fei, get out of showbiz!"

Just as Rao Fei is completely broke and starting to wonder if she really should pack up and leave the entertainment industry,

her manager brings good news: a big-budget dating show has invited her to join the cast!

Rao Fei is wary: A dating show? Who am I supposed to date?

Manager: The Best Actor! Jiang Ye! He's a big deal!

Rao Fei: "..."

Maybe I should just pack up and leave showbiz after all.

I'd rather starve than go on a dating show with my ex-boyfriend!!

A major dating show suddenly announces its cast.

Jiang Ye, the top-tier star and award-winning Best Actor, will appear on the show as a couple with Rao Fei, a little-known actress.

The comments section erupts:

"Rao Fei still hasn't left showbiz?"

"@Jiang Ye Studio, are you out of your minds, letting him take a variety show like this? Why would an award-winning Best Actor like Jiang Ye go on a dating show with a scandal-ridden nobody?"

"Rao Fei's been milking that one interview Jiang Ye gave eight hundred years ago ever since. If she goes on this show, won't she milk him dry?"

"Which sugar daddy did Rao Fei sleep with to get this opportunity?"

On the first day of filming, the show is broadcast live nationwide.

Each couple is assigned a shared villa, and a small whiteboard at the entrance records how much each guest likes their partner.

Since the show has paired up all the hottest couples of the moment, the whiteboards at each villa look fairly harmonious. Even the lowest score is a passing 60.

The camera turns to the "Fei Ye" villa:

Jiang Ye's affection score: 0

Rao Fei's affection score: 0

The production team: ...

The viewers are delighted, guessing that Best Actor Jiang was coerced into joining the show and doesn't want to be there at all.

Until the final episode, after their last date before parting, the supposedly coldhearted Jiang Ye, who can't love an ordinary person, lowers his head slightly in the snow and grips Rao Fei's down jacket, refusing to let go. His eyes red, he asks:

"Can you give me the kiss you owed me when we were eighteen?"
