The Qing Dynasty's Art of Thick Black Studies: The Princess Consort

Too much rigidity leads to breaking. After a long dream, the Fourth Consort realizes that her proud nature will soon make her lose the Emperor's favor. Thanks to a twist of fate, she is still the renowned and virtuous Fourth Consort. Given another chance, should she cast aside her pride, clip her wings, and win a man's affection? Ha. Dream on. If she breaks her proud spirit, how could she still be the Fourth Consort? The Fourth Consort remains proud, but now she wears a mask. She spends her days absorbed in romance tales, practicing one lesson: "I must stay true to myself and not love him, yet I mustn't let him know I don't love him." With this disguise, she stops Li from driving a wedge between the couple, foils the transmigrated woman's schemes, and shatters the bond between Nian and Yin Zhen, along with Yin Zhen's miserly offering of his true affection. Theme: Love yourself before loving others.
