The new Saniwa had plenty of experience before taking over a citadel.

So when the previous Saniwa was finally driven mad by the Temporal Bureau, she successfully took charge of the understaffed beginner citadel and did an excellent job.

So the Temporal Bureau decided to send Yamanbagiri Chogi to pay this Saniwa a courtesy visit. Only...

The Temporal Bureau had a feeling they'd forgotten something.

For example, which citadel had this Saniwa worked at before? How could they have no recollection of such an outstanding Saniwa?

The Temporal Bureau checked the employment records.

No such person found.

Oh, right. This Saniwa seemed to have transferred from another organization.

So they looked up her file.

It read: Former position: Commander of the Special Grade Time Retrograde Army.

At the citadel gate, Yamanbagiri Chogi knocked politely.

When Yamanbagiri Kunihiro opened the door, he looked at the unfamiliar new sword warrior and furrowed his brow with concern. "Is the citadel's defense level too low? I sense an enemy nearby."

Though he didn't know why, he felt this newcomer was somehow especially unusual. Yamanbagiri Kunihiro tugged at the blanket he wore and defended the citadel. "No... I think that's our Saniwa."

When he said "Saniwa," there was an almost imperceptible pride in his voice, something that was never there before.

Yamanbagiri Chogi: "..." What did you just say?!

Welcome to the Time Retrograde Army Commander's citadel.

There's a long road ahead, new swords.
