Transmigrating Before the Mountain-Splitting Rescue of His Mother

After transmigrating to the Shang dynasty, Gu Chaozong had nowhere to go. At the invitation of the person who had saved his life, he became a music tutor to her children. But when the truth came to light, he learned that his benefactor was no ordinary person: she was a celestial maiden who had descended to the mortal world, named Yun Hua. As it happened, her son was Yang Jian and her daughter was Yang Chan. Completely bewildered, Gu Chaozong could only take her children and make a run for it just as the Jade Emperor was preparing to put righteousness before family. Years later, after a twist of fate placed him in the Shang camp, Gu Chaozong stood among his side's leading generals, weapon in hand, and fell into deep thought as he watched Yang Jian emerge from the opposite city's gates to meet them in battle. CP: Yang Jian. This story's setting is quite different from most Investiture of the Gods novels on the market. King Zhou's characterization is based almost entirely on Investiture of the Gods, not other adaptations. The point is the tension of being on opposing sides.
