Seeing Ghosts

Xu Jialan thinks that a man like Jiang Xiao, who fears nothing, punches NPCs and kicks the ghosts blocking his way, with the words "I'm just that awesome" practically written across his face, doesn't look any less handsome with the vicious scar at the corner of his eye, but it really is a bit unsightly. Jialan once guessed where the scar came from with a cheap friend she'd picked up: a fat guy. "He must've gotten slashed while showing off, back when his kung fu wasn't up to scratch," the fat guy added. "After all, every big shot has an awkward, green past." Jialan thought that made a lot of sense. Much later, Xu Jialan finally got to know Jiang Xiao well. She asked him what she'd always wondered. Jiang Xiao looked strange as he recalled the past. "The first time we met, you chased me for eight blocks with a butcher's cleaver." "Right here." He pointed to the vicious scar at the corner of his eye. "You did that." - Blurb written on a whim. Absurdist infinite-worlds story. Probably not scary. Theme:
