Don't Pick Up Your Ex by the Roadside [GB]

[I started writing this one on a burst of passion with no outline, and for now I don't know how to continue. I'll put it on hold and come back to it when I have time to sort things out and fill in the plot holes.] One-sentence synopsis: Shi Yun picked someone up by the roadside twice. One time it was Jiang Qian, and the other time it was still Jiang Qian. According to her best friend, Shi Yun's looks, figure, personality, and abilities were flawless in every way. Her only "flaw" was her unusual sexual orientation, which had kept her single for more than twenty years. Her friend also said she was stubborn, and that if she ever met someone who perfectly matched her tastes, she would definitely fall for him. Shi Yun scoffed at the idea. "You're back? I've made dinner already. Go wash your hands and eat." Looking at the man she'd picked up for the second time, now standing awkwardly by the dining table in an apron, Shi Yun couldn't help thinking: Maybe she really was stubborn after all? So be it if she was stubborn. After all, Shi Yun had never met a man who suited her tastes better than Jiang Qian. * Jiang Qian thought that after telling Shi Yun, "This isn't normal," "I can't stand living in these difficult circumstances anymore," and "I don't love you that much," everything between them would be over for good. Even when they met again, he didn't dare dream they could get back together. But Shi Yun said to him, "Jiang Qian, can we let go of the past and start over?" Reader's guide: 1. A self-indulgent short story, updated whenever inspiration strikes. 2. Older woman-younger man romance, three-year age gap, second chance romance, both are virgins. 3. Neither lead knows how to communicate, which causes many misunderstandings. Theme: Staying true to yourself is an important quality in life.
