[Dororo] Hear the Demon Tell of the Gods' Past

I was once the god of this land. I've forgotten my title. But unlike that wind god, who was forgotten by humans, I was driven out by them.

Because I couldn't give them the life they wanted, they banished me.

In those days, the land was barren, and the gods in the heavens despised it. I wasn't Inari, and couldn't give them a prosperous life, so their ruler sought help from the spirits. He offered his child's body as the price of a pact, releasing the spirits to nourish the land with blood.

A fallen god is a demon.

A god who loses faith becomes a yokai. When a yokai's divinity shatters, it becomes a fiend. When a fiend loses its reason and does nothing but kill, it becomes a demon. I've been a yokai for a long time. I don't know how much longer my divinity can hold out. I hope someone will kill me before I become a fiend.

This is a god's final dignity.

The character may seem a little like Ibaraki Doji from Onmyoji, but that's not the case. Their settings are just somewhat similar.
