After the Occult Master Was Haunted by a Vengeful Ghost

Story blurb:

Li Guxing returns to his hometown for a funeral. On his very first night, he runs into something sinister and has strange dreams for several nights in a row.

The dreams are about his youth, but something in them is wrong. Jiang Chen, who should have been arrogant and flamboyant, has a fiery gaze and affectionately pulls him onto his lap to kiss him. The love in his eyes is so intense it almost drowns Li Guxing.

After waking, Li Guxing can barely tell dream from reality. He rummages through the old family home and finally finds a length of red string Jiang Chen left him before going abroad. The string is stained with something dark, as if soaked in blood, yet Li Guxing inexplicably slips it around his wrist.

Before leaving, someone asks him for help, so he takes on a job. They say the house is haunted by a vicious ghost.

The moment he arrives, he freezes. A young face stares back at him from a black-and-white memorial portrait, the dates of birth and death clearly written beneath it. Today is Jiang Chen's death anniversary. He's been dead for four years.

It feels like a punch to the gut. Li Guxing silently meets Jiang Chen's gaze in the portrait, and even breathing starts to hurt.

The portrait silently curls its lips into a smile. A breath of cold air brushes his ear. The troublesome ghost appears before Li Guxing, cold hands gripping his waist. The youth, still looking eighteen, affectionately rubs his cheek against Li Guxing's. His eyes, steeped in dark crimson, hold a terrifyingly possessive obsession.
