Originally titled A Poison That Quenches Thirst, this is a sweet campus romance with an extremely doting love interest and a ridiculous, groveling pursuit of his wife. He took his toys and chocolate, and meddled with the girls who had crushes on him. Until one day, the older boy pinned him against the wall and said stupidly, "Go out with me. From now on, everything I have is yours." [Shen Yan's Version] Shen Yan picked up a little brother. He was delicate and pretty, gentle and obedient, like a canary. He made Shen Yan look good when he took him out, and was a delight to keep at home. Shen Yan happily raised him like a little wife. Until one day, the little wife he'd failed to tame rebelled, seized his assets, and took his power. Their friends were worried sick and came over one after another to check on him. Shen Yan smoked a cigarette and said through gritted teeth, "We'll make do. What else can we do, get divorced?" [Mini-scene] When they were kids Shen Yan: "Ke Ke, have this lollipop. It won't make you pregnant. And if you do get pregnant, we'll have the baby and my mom can raise all three of us." When they grew up Shen Yan: "Kiss me once, and I'll grant you one wish." Later, Shen Ke came into power. At the height of his glory, Shen Yan kicked him out of office, teased a canary, and said, "I've got a gold cage at home, just right for keeping a canary in." Later still Shen Yan knelt on a keyboard, writing an apology, then lit a cigarette with a world-weary air. "Pursuing your wife is like drinking poison to quench your thirst. You either die or go mad. Ke Ke, don't you think?" Serious attributes: A groveling sweetheart in private and a domineering man in public as the top & delicate and pretty, pretending to be obedient in private and adorable in public as the bottom. Not-so-serious attributes: A stupid top who picks on the bottom because he likes him, is possessive, and always tries to act domineering but gets easily cowed by the bottom's sweet talk & a pretty bottom who thinks the top is good-natured and easy to coax, and can win him over with a casual excuse.
