Raising Paper-Doll Characters in a SAN-Destroying Game [Worldbuilding]

Game streamer Ling Song discovers a game called Apostles of the Apocalypse. It's tagged as romance, management, and adventure, but the game also contains Lovecraftian elements. From the start, the minions of an evil god descend. People are constantly attacked and preyed upon by bloodthirsty monsters, their SAN values dropping until they die. The only paper-doll character who can bring this apocalyptic hell to an end is Yun Ye. He is living in the Ark Base, where the former leader went mad, much of the talent has left, and most of the remaining members are old, weak, sick, or disabled. Ling Song must find Yun Ye and make a pact with him, then take over the base. He controls several paper dolls brought to life with his lucky koi bloodline, building the strongest base, opening an Ark tavern, recruiting all kinds of talent, and restoring the base to its former glory. Once the base's infrastructure is in place, Yun Ye can finally put his combat skills to use, and the minions of the evil god are wiped out faster and faster. As the game nears its end, Ling Song grows more and more reluctant to let go. He's afraid that if he shuts down the game, Yun Ye will become nothing more than a thin paper doll. But who could have guessed that after he beat the game and the apocalypse ended, a line of text would appear?
