When Liya woke up, she discovered that she had ended up inside an otome game. After the kind, fragile heroine is bullied and ostracized, she successively wins over the aloof prince, the morally ambiguous dark mage, and the upright, devoted knight. Along the way, she accidentally saves a man who was tormented by a witch. He is the youngest and most promising Holy Emissary on the continent. He makes her his sole heir and sends the wicked witch to the stake.
After recalling the plot, the witch Liya looked at the battered "servant" who was bending down to kiss her toes.
She fell silent for a moment, then tremblingly wrapped her arms around her servant and wept hypocritically. "Oh my goodness, I must have been possessed by a demon to do something like that to you!"
Liya was forced to raise his affection for her, all to save her own life. Even as she was being led to the execution platform, she was still squeezing out tears as she said, "I did all this because I admire you, my lord."
Veilais's gaze was calm and unruffled.
"A lie."
Veilais had recently been having the same dream over and over. In it, he angrily pinned a woman beneath a tree and kissed her.
But as a Holy Emissary, he rarely felt any emotions, let alone worldly desire. This had to be the work of a dark mage trying to corrupt his will. So he went to the Magic Mirror in the Tower of the Sun to seek a way to break the spell.
The Magic Mirror answered, "This isn't magic.
It's a prophecy."
