The latest release from the Dresden Group, the biggest game company owned by the Second King, the Gold King, is now open for closed beta: The Slate, Activate.
When Lin Yuan Shihua celebrated finally getting one of the precious limited spots, one of only four, she overlooked one important detail
[Four players.]
Each player has a different main storyline, and they get in each other's way!
First instance:
Player A: Love and Yokohama? It's just an otome game. I can clear it with my eyes closed... Wait, what are these monsters in human form? Why are they so hard to romance?
Player B: What do you mean, Yokohama: Inception Within Inception Within Inception? What? I'm not with the Hunting Dogs, I'm actually with the Mafia? What? I'm not with the Mafia either, I'm actually with the Decay of the Angel? What, I'm not with the Decay of the Angel either!
Player C: What the hell is Revive, My Godfather? Even in a world with superpowers, bringing back the previous boss is way too out there. Besides, I don't want to revive that lunatic!
Player D: At least my script is The Life of a Great Detective, Starting from Zero. Cozy, peaceful, and full of mysteries. Wait, why did my detective agency just blow up... Is this actually a world of superpowers? Hold on, am I the only one without a superpower?
As the four players kept interfering with one another, all their main storylines fell apart. They made enemies of each other and prepared to settle things in real life.
When the second instance was updated, a forum feature suddenly appeared.
Now they had to complete the main storyline and become popular characters, or they would be forced to leave the game for having too little popularity.
As punishment for failing to complete the previous instance's main storylines, every player's character card in the new instance had a ton of hidden information. So, after they'd completed over half of the main storyline and unlocked all the information
Player B: I'm screwed. I thought I was a real villain. I was about to personally send the whole Police Academy trio to their deaths. Now I'm supposed to make contact with the Japanese Public Security Police, but I can't pull it off!!!
Player C: I'm done for! I thought I was the rising star of the Metropolitan Police Department and arrested a bunch of people on the villain side, but I'm actually an undercover agent! Aaaaaah!
Player D: Thanks. I nearly got eliminated from the start, and now I'm a little kid at an elementary school. Can any of you have it worse than me?
Lin Yuan Shihua: Great, so I'm not the only one ruining my character. Now I can relax (.

Meanwhile, on the forum:
[The four of them were childhood friends, sob! Yezi only gave them the information because she wanted everyone to sit down and talk. How did things turn out like this...?]
[They all wanted to save each other, but only ended up growing further apart.]
[The Police Academy trio next door are all lovey-dovey, while these guys are just out to destroy each other, huh?]
[Their friendship, I'm crying so hard.]
The players: ...This script isn't so bad. Let's play our parts.jpg

#The Forum Believes Me When I Say I'm Really Red/Black, So Why Doesn't My Character?#
Reader's Guide:
[1] A touch of ensemble cast, mainly from the heroine's perspective, lots of headcanons √;
[2] Pairing undecided;
[3] I had eye surgery and need to rest for a while. All going well, I'll start a new story next month.
Theme: Be good at learning from experience.
