A sudden displacement in time and space swept Davis, the last emperor of Xingluo with the Dai surname, into the past. When he opened his eyes again, he had returned to an earlier time. At first, he was merely a wandering soul, following his younger self and serving as a proper spectator, watching himself grow up. Then one day, his previously unseen young uncle, Dai Xiao, handed him a book. After that, Davis, still in spirit form, killed himself with his own hands and seized his body, ready to take on the so-called "will of heaven."
Though he did not know why he had returned to his childhood, Tang San was willing to believe this was a chance. In his previous life, he had met Dai Mubai for the first time and taken him as a friend. They had spent a long time together, growing to cherish one another, until Tang San fell deeply in love and could no longer let go. But it was too late. He and Xiao Wu, Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing, all already belonged to someone else. Now Tang San looked at his dilapidated home in Holy Soul Village, his heart stirred and his joy impossible to contain. There was still time.
The youngest prince of Xingluo, Dai Mubai, stood at the center of the storm. His original fate had been completely thrown into disarray, and the road ahead was impossible to see. A dream of yellow millet, a mirage in the desert: perhaps it was better not to obsess over the truth, and simply follow his heart.
Author's ramblings
1. Couples in this story: Dai Weisi x Dai Mubai; Tang San x Dai Mubai. The others will depend on how the story develops.
2. The characters may be out of character, but I'll do my best to keep them true to the originals.
3. There are original characters and a made-up worldbuilding setting.
