Fanfiction for the TV series The Legend of Dugu.

Yuwen Hu x Dugu Banruo

Dark themes, read with caution.

The setup is that Yuwen Hu raises an army and forces his way into the palace. Yang Jian and Yuwen Yong lose and flee with their troops, but Yuwen Yong returns to protect Jialuo. Many ministers refuse to submit, so Yuwen Hu kills them, one group after another. Eventually, he decides it’s too much trouble and sets the palace on fire, burning to death everyone who refuses to obey him...

Then he kills Yuwen Yu and declares himself emperor. But because he rules with violence and an iron fist, the various pillar generals raise armies to attack him.

A-Hu has gone mad. He doesn’t care anymore and wants to die together with Banruo.

So he has her unborn child aborted, and not just once.

After the fetus is removed, the Grand Preceptor forces himself on her and keeps her imprisoned.

He’s going to die anyway, so he doesn’t care.

Banruo has lost her child and cast aside all shame and propriety. She becomes a seductive empress, ruling alongside Yuwen Hu and openly seducing people at court and having sex in broad daylight, and so on.

After they have sex countless times, she becomes pregnant with Yuwen Hu’s child and has another abortion, because she wants him to taste the same pain.

Yuwen Hu has gone mad too. He doesn’t care anymore, and keeps having sex with her and killing everyone who refuses to submit.

As Geshu put it: women bring ruin to the country.

In the end, Yang Jian leads an army to attack the city. No one is willing to fight for the Grand Preceptor anymore. Yuwen Hu is left alone at the city gate, where Yang Jian’s men take turns attacking him until he dies, like Xiang Yu facing a thousand enemies. Banruo knows that Yuwen Hu has defiled her and the world will never accept her, so she puts on her phoenix robe and jumps from the city tower, dying alongside A-Hu.

Afterward, the people whip their corpses.
