The Dog Hits the Brick

Walk south to north along East-West Alley, and outside you'll see a person biting a dog.

Pick up the dog to hit them with a brick, and the brick bites you instead.

A sequel to "Man Bites Dog," but with an entirely new cast of main characters. Characters from the first book will appear in this one, which will also resolve lingering questions from the first story. As before, it's a story dressed up as a romance. I hope you enjoy it.

Plot summary: The country's news-reading app, Hotspot Focus, has only six months left. Only Zhuang Xiaoming and her editor-in-chief know. To be the first media outlet in the province to publish an exposé on Hotspot Focus six months from now, Zhuang Xiaoming "quits" the TV station and joins Hotspot Focus. Working as an ordinary employee, she gathers data and inches toward its mysterious core.

A news app that controls the underground information trade across Changjiang Province. Its parent company, Tiger Technology, uses this trove of information to keep government agencies, factories, and businesses in check. How many more secrets are hidden behind this self-proclaimed "emperor of Changjiang Province"?

Faced with pleas for help from friends, tests at work, betrayal by her boss, and enormous temptations, can Zhuang Xiaoming hold on to her original convictions and escape this tangled whirlpool unscathed?

The male lead is a hoodlum; the female lead is a reporter.

I'll add bonus chapters at 800 collection adds and 300 comments.
