[Main story complete]
Slice of life, ridiculous comedy, sweet romance.
Everyone knows that Shi Mian and Lu Zhuo don't get along.
Back in school, they were always at each other's throats, completely incompatible. If one of them scored one more point than the other, their rival would stay up all night doing three more practice exams. If one got praised by a teacher, the other would do whatever it took to bring home an extra award at the end of the term.
Things didn't get any better as they grew up.
In fact, just before Shi Mian lost consciousness in a car accident, he still made sure to post on Moments, spreading a rumor that Lu Zhuo was impotent.
And yet a dating show somehow paired them up.
On the day filming began, Shi Mian spotted Lu Zhuo, his eyes lit up, and he dashed over.
Everyone else: Uh-oh! They're about to start fighting!
But the next second...
Shi Mian looked up at him, his eyes full of sincere anticipation. “Hi, are you my partner?”
Lu Zhuo: ...?
*
A car accident left Shi Mian with scrambled memories, and he forgot all about their years of rivalry. When they met again, Lu Zhuo wasn't his sworn enemy in his eyes. He was his crush, complete with a soft-focus filter.
Their first team challenge.
Lu Zhuo's face was cool and distant. He hadn't even gotten the words “Stay away from me” out when someone grabbed his coat.
Shi Mian smiled sweetly, with a hint of caution. Like a fluffy little animal tentatively reaching out, he asked, “Can I come with you?”
Lu Zhuo: …
The rejection caught in his throat.
#Never in his life had he seen Shi Mian this well-behaved!#
**
Later on.
The Shi and Lu families entered into a business partnership, but they argued over every clause, neither side willing to give an inch. Just as the conflict was about to escalate, someone happened to turn on the TV.
The show on screen was the dating program they had appeared on.
One afternoon, the wind rippled across a field of wheat.
Shi Mian had spent all morning basking in the sun. Holding his face in his hands, he unconsciously whined, “It's so hot. I'm miserable.”
Lu Zhuo scoffed, “You're old enough to know better than to put on an act.”
Yet he lowered his head and held the umbrella over Shi Mian, his movements gentle, focused, and natural. So natural, you'd think he'd done it a thousand times before.
No one in the room was arguing anymore. Everyone stared at the two of them in shock.
Lu Zhuo, who had no memory of this at all: …
Shi Mian, who had only just recovered his memories: …
#What's even the point of arguing now?#
#Forget business. They should just turn this into an arranged marriage.#
As for the two people involved...
Shi Mian: Don't worry about me. I'm going up to the roof.
Lu Zhuo: Don't @ me. I'm going out to admire the moon.

“Your Majesty, Why Rebel?”
Blurb:
Chen You transmigrated into an ancient-era novel.
At the System's insistence, he took up a rebellion script that went “a broken bowl at the start, Zhu Yuanzhang by the end.” After countless hardships, he finally led his army to fight the decisive battle atop Chang'an.
But then...
Before the armies, the old general trembled, leaning on his warhorse with tears streaming down his face. “Your Majesty, why are you rebelling?”
Chen You looked left and right, then finally asked in bewilderment, “Who is Your Majesty? M-me?”
-
Chen You thought the rebellion was going unusually smoothly, but never suspected that the whole court had long since surrounded him, each of them a spy in his corner.
Take the butcher who couldn't read a single character and wore a ghost mask because he was “ugly”...
He was actually the original novel's dashing, ruthless commander of the Embroidered Uniform Guard?
And the old man who sat sunning himself at the village entrance, smoking his pipe and doting on his yellow dog...
He was actually a tutor to three emperors, with students all over the land and a mind that planned three moves ahead?
Then the frail military adviser behind him, who seemed as fresh and serene as moonlight but coughed every few steps...
Could only be the original novel's villain.
Wen Shuyan.
*
Wen Shuyan.
The original novel's greatest villain, he manipulated events from behind the scenes and held the court in his power. He imprisoned the crown prince and killed the puppet child emperor. Countless people were deceived by his refined appearance, and every last one of them ended up in the afterlife.
According to the original novel, Wen Shuyan looked frail, but had practiced archery and horsemanship since childhood. One arrow could fly a hundred paces and pierce an enemy's throat with ease.
In other words...
There was no way to run.
Thinking of all the outrageous things he'd done to this beauty over the past few years, Chen You broke out in a cold sweat on the battlefield.
Wen Shuyan rode his horse forward and urged him at an unhurried pace. “Your Majesty?”
Ha ha.
Chen You froze on his horse.
He didn't dare turn around. He didn't dare move.
[Extra scene]
On the day of his enthronement, Wen Shuyan helped him straighten his crown. His fingers seemed to brush Chen You's Adam's apple now and then.
Chen You imagined a whole series of scenes in which his head rolled, and said tearfully, “Do you want the throne? I can abdicate and hand it to you.”
Wen Shuyan's fingers paused, his gaze darkening. “What would I want the throne for, Your Majesty?”
Chen You: ...How much of that am I supposed to believe?
Wen Shuyan calmly adjusted his robe and stepped back. “Rest easy, Your Majesty. This whole empire will belong to you.”
His rebellious ambitions had never been about the throne.
They were about... that person.
Theme: As long as you strive to improve, everyone can find a love of their own.
Don't you think you are cute by releasing animals? [Oh oh oh] Under the influence of some people's behavior, releasing animals does not give people a good impression.
