A Marriage Encounter

At the end of the second year of her marriage pact with Shen Linzhou, the media published a photo of him walking arm in arm with an unfamiliar woman. Lu Sang took a desperate risk and staged a car accident to save their marriage.

When she woke up in the hospital, she saw a five-year-old boy and an impossibly handsome stranger standing guard in her room.

A ridiculous plot came crashing into her mind. Lu Sang stared at the little boy, her scalp tingling. "You are...?"

"Big Sister, I'm here to get my stuffed bear."

He wasn't her son. Lu Sang breathed a sigh of relief, then looked down and quickly handed over the thing she had been clutching. She apologized to the man in the room. "I'm sorry, sir. I've caused trouble for you and your son."

The man frowned at her, his expression complicated. Half a minute later, he left the room without a word.

The little boy rubbed the bear's ear and said to Lu Sang, "He's not my dad."

Lu Sang: "Huh?"

The little boy: "I think he's your husband."

Lu Sang: "Huh??"

Blurb for To Have and to Hold:

A friend asked, "Suppose there are two men. One is gentle and considerate but not very capable, and sometimes needs you to support the family. The other is handsome and rich, but stays out all night, and married life with him is like being widowed. Which would you choose?"

Xiao Lan: "The second one. I mainly like men who stay out all night."

Later, she really did marry a man like that. But a year into their marriage, Lu Tingbei changed his ways. He started coming home early and leaving late, voluntarily staying in on weekends to keep his wife company, and even taking up cooking, though his dishes really didn't look appetizing...

Xiao Lan earnestly urged him to go out more. "It's too exhausting to work on weekends. You should have some other fun. You know that woman's husband, right? He often goes out with a few good friends to play ball, go for a drive, and take a boat out to sea. He enjoys his freedom and youth. Why not give it a try?"

Lu Tingbei: "Heh."
