You will surely be crowned in Hell.
The Morning Star fell from Heaven into Hell, and the demons of the Nine Hells cheered in celebration. O God, who loathes darkness, is this a gift you have given to Hell?
But when Lucifer led his army of fallen angels in a war to unite Hell, the demons' smiles froze. Before long, every one of those smiles would turn to terror, becoming the backdrop to the Demon King's crown.
Later, the historians of Hell would describe that war, which lasted hundreds of years and swept across all of Hell, as "the beginning of a great age, a symbol of Hell's power to stand against Heaven." Of course, we readily admit that their words were also meant to flatter the supreme being who ruled from the Demon Palace.
The Demon Palace on the seventh level was home to the supreme being of Hell, its one and only ruler.
His authority, his power, his wisdom: all were attested to by the demons' congealed, blackened blood and by the Demon Pillars outside the palace, which bound countless demons. No living being had the right to question him.
Between blood and fire, he claimed a glory no less than the glory he once had.
1. The pairings depend on my mood.
2. A feel-good, indulgent, harem-style story with a shou protagonist. The protagonist is beautiful, powerful, and tragic.
3. My own take on Hebrew mythology, with a mountain of original lore.
Theme: The Demon King's glory is forged with his own hands.
