Description One:
A mortal's spirit enters the ghost realm.
A ghost's body takes on flesh.
A bond of love lasts a thousand years.
And then ascends through the nine heavens.
In the immortal realm, there is a god named Hua Wu. After seeking the Dao for ten thousand years, she lacks only one tribulation to break through and attain the rank of Immortal Venerable. After a century of divination, she discovers the name of this tribulation: My Life.
Description Two:
My Life died in a cold winter.
She was bound to a cross, unable to move.
Around her lay firewood and dried branches that the villagers had painstakingly gathered from the mountains.
She watched helplessly as one familiar face after another set the wood ablaze with their own hands. The fire drove away the damp cold, and the rising flames dried the tears at the corners of her eyes.
Closing her eyes, she saw the white silk hanging from the beam in her home. The howling wind stirred a pair of dangling bare feet. They were beautiful feet, with rounded toes and slender ankles, bruised blue from the cold, swaying there.
People talked among themselves, saying My Life had gone mad, because as the flames engulfed her, she burst into laughter.
Others said My Life had gone mad long ago, when she fell in love with a woman named Hua Wu.
