Note: The origins of this story are rather strange. One day I dreamed it, and when I woke up I decided to write it down. The more I wrote, the longer it became, until it turned into a story.
I hadn’t thought of a title at first, so I randomly called it A Nation’s Downfall. It was pretty cringe.
Since I started writing so casually, I picked the names on a whim. The uke’s name, Lin Fengzhi, was originally Fengchuan in my dream. After waking up, I remembered that Fengchuan was the name of a boy in the class next to mine at school, who had sadly died young. It gave me the chills, so when I typed it into the document, I changed “chuan” to “zhi.” After writing two chapters, I suddenly remembered that there was a fairly well-known danmei story whose seme was named Fengzhi and whose uke was surnamed Lin. Had I accidentally combined their seme and uke into one person? I was mortified, but it was too late to change it, so I’ll just say this story is my tribute to that author
