My Childhood Friend Turns Out to Be the Grim Reaper

Chi Wanwan had a childhood friend who had grown up with her. Whenever she ran into trouble, as long as he was there, the rain would stop, the clouds would clear, evildoers would cry, and all her bad luck would disappear. Everyone said he was her guardian angel.

On the night of her eighteenth birthday, emboldened by alcohol, Chi Wanwan secretly kissed him. After that night, she was surprised to discover that her unlucky streak seemed to have disappeared completely.

For example, the neighbor's dog no longer barked at her. A robber who tried to rob her ended up giving her change. Even her idol's antis started asking after her and treating her kindly...

Only later did she learn that they were all scared by Jiang Yubai.

As the successor to a family of Grim Reapers, Jiang Yubai had been made to practice the basics since childhood. His first assignment was a girl born under an unlucky star, destined not to live past the age of five.

On their first day together, the girl said to him, "I'll be the mommy, and you'll be the daddy. This is our baby. You earn money to support the family, and I'll be beautiful."

So he left her alone and devoted himself to reaping souls and building up his performance record.

It wasn't until many years later, when a child played the same game, that he realized the girls had been playing house.

Reader's Guide:

1. One person for a lifetime, and half of your life given to them. Childhood sweethearts, sweet romance, lighthearted, not scary.

2. A bit of an ensemble cast. The story involves ghost hunting, but most of the time it's about romance. If that's not your thing, read with caution. The story is entirely fictional, and the worldbuilding serves the plot.
