The First Forensic Examiner of the Imperial Prison

[Collecting Favorites for My Next Novel, The Chief Eunuch Graduates from Forensic Medicine] Forensic examiner Ye Baiting wakes up inside a book as a pampered young master, with a slim waist, delicate hands, and every luxury at his fingertips. Unfortunately, this young master has no mansion or warm bed, no crowd of servants, and, as the family member of a disgraced official, is dragged into the imperial prison. As he lies on the verge of death, his adopted older brother, whom he considered as close as a real brother, has never come to see him. Instead, he reported him and earned credit for "upholding justice at the expense of family," rising to the post of Vice Minister of Justice. If he wants to survive... it seems he has no choice but to return to his old profession. Examine corpses to stay alive, solve cases to earn merit, investigate crimes and get promoted, rise to wealth and power. At the Northern Branch of the Embroidered Uniform Guard, he is The Outcast, second only to one and above all others. He can avenge old grudges to his heart's content... What a thrill! In less than a year, the Embroidered Uniform Guard cracks one bizarre case after another. The Ministry of Justice and the Court of Judicial Review keep out of its way, the balance of power at court shifts, and the emperor is delighted. The list of rewards for the commander is enough to cover an entire table. The Eastern Depot and Western Depot decide they can't let this continue, so they seek out the pampered young master and make their offers in turn: Sir, as you can see, the food at our Eastern Depot comes from the imperial kitchens, we live in houses built by the Imperial Household Department, and we use the finest things issued by them. If you agree to join us, we'll share our vast fortune with you! Sir, as you can see, the food at our Western Depot is provided by the Grand Empress Dowager, we live in the gardens of former court officials, and we use tribute goods given to the imperial consorts. If you agree to join us, we'll do more than share our fortune. We'll even take you as our godfather! Qiu Yiqing removes his Embroidered Spring Saber, scoops up his own little coroner, and carries him to the room. He takes the other's hand and places it on the clasp of his robe. "Our household chef comes from Shu. In summer, there's a waterside pavilion with a cool-water pool; in winter, the rooms have heated floors. The bed isn't big, but it's very soft. If you'd be willing to stay... then I'm yours." The main plot is solving cases, with plenty of thrills and sweetness! Theme: The truth can never be concealed.
