Qin Zhilan first saw Wanxing at the school gate. Sitting in a second-floor cafe, he listened to his companions' chatter and looked down at her from above.
Her silvery-white hair fell over her shoulders, and her dress reached her ankles. With her exquisite features, she looked both bewitching and ethereal.
She really was astonishingly beautiful, but Second Young Master Qin had never been swayed by looks. He glanced at her once, then looked away.
The second time they met was the next night, in the rain, beside the corner of a ruined wall. The beautiful girl, who looked too frail to fend for herself, was soundly beating several hulking men, leaving them bruised and battered.
Qin Zhilan was surprised and couldn't help stopping to watch for a while.
But he never expected the delicate girl to turn around, see him, and suddenly light up. "Hubby!"
Qin Zhilan: "...?"
A sweet fragrance rushed into his arms. The beautiful girl wrapped her arms around his waist, pressing against him. Her chest was perfectly flat. Oh, so she wasn't a girl, but a man with a penchant for cross-dressing, and not quite right in the head, either.
"You've got the wrong person. I'm not your husband."
Qin Zhilan coolly pushed him away and turned to leave.
Though he'd recently tumbled down a mountain and injured his head, he wasn't so stupid that he couldn't see through a trick like this.
The rain kept falling. Standing by the window, Qin Zhilan saw the boy who had followed him huddled downstairs, drenched. He looked sweet and beautiful, and rather pitiful.
Without expression, Qin Zhilan drew the curtains.
He tossed and turned all night without sleeping. As he listened to the rain grow heavier outside, his restlessness mounted. Qin Zhilan grabbed an umbrella and prepared to bring the boy back.
It wasn't because he was kindhearted. He was worried that if the boy, who seemed to have something wrong with his head, caught a cold in the rain, he'd try to pin the blame on him.

It was only after he officially took Wanxing in that Qin Zhilan realized he was even more outrageous than Xiaolongnu just after she emerged from an ancient tomb. His martial prowess was astonishing, and he was so innocent he hardly seemed human.
He called Qin Zhilan "Hubby" every other breath, and claimed they had met in the mountains. His gaze was pure, and he insisted it was true, even naming the mountain.
After hearing it so many times, Qin Zhilan began to wonder if he'd hit his head badly enough to forget something.
But this wife who had just come down from the mountain couldn't catch the slightest hint of subtext. He was also wildly curious about every modern electronic device, and didn't even have an ID card.
Forget it. Even if he had to grit his teeth, he had to accept his own wife.
His wife was beautiful and adorable, loved delicious food and fine clothes, and would occasionally wander around the house wearing snowy-white fox ears and a big fluffy tail.
Qin Zhilan found it hard to resist, while Wanxing's eyes remained guileless and innocent.
His social life gradually dwindled. Apart from taking jobs to earn money, he did the laundry and cooked. Whenever he had time, he took Wanxing shopping. All in all, life was pretty sweet.
Then, on the anniversary of their first year living together, Qin Zhilan was simmering soup for Wanxing in the kitchen when the doorbell rang.
Wanxing jumped off the sofa and ran barefoot to open the door.
Qin Zhilan heard a warm, delighted voice from outside.
"Xingxing, it's been a long time."
It was the voice of Qin Zhiyuan, his detested older brother.
1v1, told from Wanxing's perspective
A beautiful, vain, food-loving, pampered fox with impressive martial arts skills as the shou x a handsome, strong, pitiful, brooding human as the gong
The shou is a little fox who grew up in the mountains. He's pure by nature, but has little understanding of human values.
They get a happy ending only because the gong works himself to the bone, eagerly caters to him, fights and schemes to win him over, and lies and begs. But in the end, they choose each other.
