Fallen-dark disciple top (Lu Xingxiu) × free-spirited, powerful master bottom (Duan Wuyan/Duan Ruyu)
Everyone in the cultivation world knows that Duan Ruyu, the head of the Nine Flood Dragon Hall, is powerful and an excellent leader. There's just one flaw: he was once disfigured, and now he's unbelievably ugly.
To make matters worse, Master Duan is particularly uninhibited and often says shocking things, accidentally offending whole groups of people.
Everyone: "Ugly people always make trouble!"
One day, Duan Ruyu failed his tribulation. After he descended to the lower realm, an ordinary cultivator with mediocre cultivation appeared: Duan Wuyan.
Duan Wuyan was nothing like his name suggested. He was extraordinarily handsome, a rare beauty unmatched by anyone.
Most importantly, Duan Wuyan had astonishing comprehension and a remarkable talent for cultivation, as if a powerful expert had started a new account and was soaring higher with every step.
Duan Wuyan was uninhibited and often spoke wildly, making people furious.
His admirers: "That's what it means to be true to yourself!"
Duan Wuyan: "I don't believe a word you say. Back then you said ugly people always make trouble, but now it's 'a hero's true nature'!"
As Duan Wuyan made a name for himself in the cultivation world, Master Duan's former friends and enemies fell silent.
Friends and enemies: "...Why is this kid just as infuriating as Duan Ruyu?"
Lu Xingxiu had a secret: he was in love with his master, Duan Ruyu. Even though the whole world said his master was hideously ugly, Lu Xingxiu thought he was the best.
He had planned to keep these feelings hidden forever, until one day his master suddenly died.
Lu Xingxiu: "???"
Lu Xingxiu shut himself away for a long time. He regretted it!
If he could do it all over again, he'd forget about hiding his feelings!
Living in the moment was what mattered most!
Lu Xingxiu spent his days in despair, until one day a certain friend suddenly brought him some news.
"I found someone in the human world who really reminds me of that infuriating Duan Ruyu."
