Wang Xianzhi and Xi Daomao: A Reply

"Though we have served one another for many years, we could have enjoyed a whole day of happiness. I have always regretted that we could never fully share the pleasure of touching foreheads. I had hoped to match you as I did in our youth and grow old with you. Who could have imagined we would be parted like this? My heart is full of anguish. How can I ever see you again, day or night? I bow my head and choke back my tears, unable to stop grieving. All I can do is breathe my last!" - Wang Xianzhi, Letter of Devotion
