A Wishful Wife

Blurb: Li Ruyi took the half of a jade pendant her father gave her before he died and, claiming she was bound by a childhood betrothal, insisted on marrying into the Huo family. She was supposed to marry the Huo family's eldest son, but he was arrogant and looked down on a country girl like her. So Li Ruyi ended up marrying the second son, who was said to be a good-for-nothing who spent all day chasing chickens and teasing dogs. And then... her new life turned out to be wonderfully prosperous.

His parents favored his elder brother. The second son of the Huo family, who seemed carefree but was actually sensitive inside, married the woman he should have called his sister-in-law. At first, he was so furious he could nearly spit blood. But when the red bridal veil was lifted and he saw the sweet little woman, beautiful as fine porcelain, he rubbed his hands together and secretly thought: Maybe marrying this wife wasn't such a bad deal after all.
