[Wu Xie BG] Wu Xie and Engineer Wu

Wu Gong tossed the lighter in his hand into the air with a grin, then caught it neatly.

“If you ask me, Third Master,” he said, slipping the lighter into Wu Xie's jacket pocket, “I might have been you in a past life.”

The Fat Man, who was drinking tea nearby, nearly spat it out with a “pfft.”

“What's this, some kind of Investiture of the Gods act? Even the theaters in Beijing aren't this entertaining.”

Wu Xie didn't seem to agree or disagree. He patted his pocket, signaling Wu Gong to go on.

“Because in his past life he was a centipede, and in this life he's shoeless.”

The joke was so painfully bad that even Zhang Qiling, who had been gazing at the sky by the window, couldn't help turning to look at Wu Gong.
