[Western Crossover] Happy New Year

One:

No papyrus ever bore his name, nor was his likeness carved into any stone. No one recorded him in writing. Only the endless sands remained, covering every trace he left behind.

He crossed oceans and deserts, exposing himself to danger, all to reach her. But he belonged to the darkness, while she was taken to the side of the Sun God, and they were parted forever.

Two:

The Nile connects the past with the future. Three thousand two hundred years later, Caius Volturi, under the assumed name James Green and posing as an Italian archaeologist, opens the famous pyramid and finds the "ka" he has pursued for three thousand years.

Three:

What is the world like after death?

Caius doesn't know. He only remembers that in the first year after he died, the sickly beauty of Thebes sat on the wall and smiled at him. "Happy New Year."

Reader's Guide:

1. The "ka" is one form of the soul as understood by the ancient Egyptians.

2. This story was written as a New Year's gift. Wishing everyone a happy 2019, and may everything go smoothly and all your wishes come true.

3. This story is entirely fictional. It borrows from history but also alters it, so please don't expect historical accuracy. I hope you'll go easy on me.

4. Inspired by the movie The Seventh Scroll. It's amazing. Show it some love!

5. Weibo: Happy Little Salted Fish Guran
