[Pokemon] Rival, Let's Do Research Together

P.S. Because of work, updates will drop randomly each week, with the occasional surprise~~

While conducting research, anti-Alliance operatives broke into the institute. To protect the institute's precious research materials and Pokemon, Xiao Mao sacrificed himself. To repay him for saving their lives, the Pokemon he had rescued combined their powers to send his soul back in time. They never expected to send him too far back, to before Arceus created the world. With no other choice, Xiao Mao could only remain by Arceus's side as a soul, waiting for him to create the world, waiting for his grandfather to be born, then his parents, and finally himself. During this time, he witnessed every change in the Pokemon world, befriended the legendary Pokemon, and came to understand what all his research had been for. After returning to his body, he decided to follow a different path from before, but he never expected to find an unexpected delight.

Bonus scene:

Xiao Zhi: "Xiao Mao, let's have a Pokemon battle! (☆_☆)"

Xiao Mao: "Not interested. I want to do research. (︶︿︶)"

Xiao Zhi: "Then let's do research together! (^O^)"

Xiao Mao: "Can you even do that? →_→`"

Xiao Zhi: "Of course! Whatever you do, I'll keep up with you! ╮(‵▽′)╭"

Xiao Mao: "All right, then. Pack your bags. We're going to Viridian Forest."

Xiao Zhi: "Wait, we're going to Viridian Forest? Σ(°Д°;"

Xiao Mao: "If we're researching Pokemon, where else would we go?"

Xiao Zhi: "I thought we were going to... (╥﹏╥)"

The pairing is Mao-Zhi, which I consider the canon couple. After reading so many stories where Xiao Mao is reborn and pursues Xiao Zhi, the author suddenly felt sorry for Xiao Mao and decided to have Xiao Zhi pursue him instead.
