(The Avengers/Steve and Tony) Long Night

"Steve, I'm so tired."

"Please let me go."

The force of love and hate is the same. Both are obsessions, carved into the heart, impossible to forget and impossible to let go.

Tony couldn't erase his hatred for Bucky, but he had finally let go of his fixation on Steve.

He suddenly remembered someone once describing him:

"Though richer than any nation, he has no one by his side."

He'd scoffed at it back then, but now it seemed like an oracle.

Tony stood up and looked at the faint light on the horizon, breathing a sigh of relief.

Daylight always ends, and every long night eventually comes to a close.

No matter how tangled a doomed relationship may be, its day of dissolution will come.

Many lines from movies and TV shows will be quoted.

Warning: major angst for Captain America.
