Yun Zhou, originally named Yun Luoyu, with the courtesy name Xingzhou and the nickname Zhouzhou, was a heaven-sent talent raised with all the resources of a secluded cultivation family. Yet she ended up proving the wisdom of the saying: "A cultivator endures countless hardships to ascend, only to become one of the hundred thousand Heavenly soldiers sent to besiege Sun Wukong."
After ascending, she always presented herself as a man, but with no backing and no resources, she was assigned to the lowest level of Heaven's Court, the Cleaning Department. With no choice, she put aside her former pride and started quietly as a sweeping attendant. She diligently swept floors for a thousand years and served tea for a thousand years. At long last, she'd worked her way up to second-in-command of the Cleaning Department... only to encounter layoffs at Heaven's Court.
Then, unfortunately, she became one of the first immortals from Heaven's Court to be "laid off" and sent down to the mortal world. Of course, she was depressed...
Well, if she had to descend to the mortal world, at least she met a coffin shop owner who wore many hats. Thanks to his connections, she got a job through the back door at the office of the S Province Center for Supernatural Phenomena Research. Back to her old line of work, she was responsible for serving tea, bringing water, and preparing meetings, beginning her life as a wage slave.
With her outstanding administrative skills, she rose through the ranks, eventually becoming... the office director of the Central Center for Supernatural Phenomena Research.
When she dropped her secret identities one by one, everyone was completely dumbfounded... The person they'd been ordering around wasn't human, but a god. Not a male god, but a goddess!
The coffin shop owner also realized: Wait a minute, isn't this the deity I've been burning incense and making offerings to every day?
Little scene:
Reporter: Director Lu, what did you think when you found out Director Yun was the deity you worship every day?
Lu Jue: I didn't think anything. How could I dare?
For the related novel, please see the author's danmei novel The Fall of the Gods. This story has the same setting, and Yun Zhou and Lu Jue are one of the couples in that book.
Theme: Keep your original aspiration, and you'll get there as long as you keep going.
It's strange, why has this chapter been in high review for a whole night and a day...
