[Please add “Nothing but a Long Life” to your to-read list. Blurb at the very bottom.] * Yu Wenrou received an internship offer from a company called [Waste Recycling Management Office]. For the sake of an internship report, Yu Wenrou decided to put up with it for a month. On her first day, Yu Wenrou followed her coworkers to collect scrap, wearing protective clothing and two layers of face masks. They opened a person-high nanalloy recycling cabinet. Inside sat a battered old wooden bathtub, with yellow talismans bearing red patterns stuck all around it. Yu Wenrou: It's the 21st century. Why is this kind of feudal superstition still around? “Hey, handsome, don't you agree?” Looking at the handsome, muscular guy sitting in the bathtub, bare-chested and dripping wet, Yu Wenrou couldn't resist whistling. A month later, Yu Wenrou decisively signed a full-time employment contract. Whether or not he had bulging muscles wasn't important. She was just an environmentally conscious person who loved collecting scrap. 1. [The muscular guy is not the male lead.] 2. She fights the heroine for resources and men, only to meet a miserable end. At first, Shi Le thought she'd gotten a classic power-fantasy protagonist's story. With her knowledge of the novel's plot, she could see what was coming and turn the tables, giving her enemies a taste of their own medicine. Then, after barely surviving for a year, a crisp chime rang in her mind. [Congratulations, Host! You have survived for one year and unlocked an immortal body.] Shi Le: ?!!! Now that she was immortal, why bother competing for resources?! Wasn't she only fighting over those mediocre scraps to increase her cultivation and live a few more years? And the male lead? Give it a few thousand years and he'd just be an old geezer, wouldn't he? She might not have many virtues, but she was loyal. When it came to handsome men, she only liked them young. Shi Le decided to hide away in a small sect, keep her head down until the end of time, outlive the male and female leads, and stick around long enough to see the Heavenly Dao off on its deathbed. Shi Le means living for the moment. That's exactly what she's going to do. Theme: Face life with a smile.
