I started writing this because I was out of things to read. We all know how that goes.
The story went on hiatus in the middle because the author went through a long stretch of working around the clock and needed quite a while to recover from all the overtime. My apologies to everyone. I've recently returned and am currently revising the story and posting extra chapters.
An alternate-history soul swap. The heroine saves the stoic, tragic hero, an underappreciated and long-suffering secret guard.
The hero suffers, but the story is heartwarming and healing.
The hero is very strong,
but he has never been loved since childhood.
He has also been threatened and exploited by those closest to him.
After that, he goes through a period in which life is worse than death.
He once still had hope,
but later discovers that it was all an illusion,
and falls into despair, resolved to die.
At this very moment, the heroine arrives after her soul is swapped into this world.
The author is back and has returned to writing.
