[AkaKuro] 0.4 Seconds

They say the two gears in a precision clock mesh at least once every 0.4 seconds. Each time they meet, it's like a reluctant embrace. But after that fleeting embrace comes another long separation. Like two people standing within arm's reach, who cross paths again and again, yet hurry away before they can even exchange a greeting.

In Tokyo, a city of indifference, many people are like this. Their fast-paced lives make them repeatedly miss the person who is about to become the most important in their lives.

The people and things lost in the rush trickle by like an endless stream. In the midst of it all, the flowers and birds give way, and several more years pass.

Then one day, without warning, he turned and caught the young man passing him by. Looking into those lake-blue eyes, devoid of warmth, he suddenly didn't know what to do.
