First, the title has to be long. This story is also called Flowers and People Drunk Together, Two Hearts Who Understand the Moon and Wind. That title is the book itself; once you see through it, there's no suspense at all (serious face).
Second, this is a story with a universally adored protagonist, and I'm trying hard to make it indulgently sweet (though my writing probably isn't sweet enough to make it work). Or maybe it'll turn into a one-on-one romance as I write, because this foolish author likes childhood sweethearts paired up.
In the vast, boundless little world of Shan Miao, surrounded by endless blue waves, there is a dilapidated sect called One Leaf. In the great world of immortal cultivation, the unremarkable One Leaf Sect is as obscure as the little world of Shan Miao.
A single leaf in a forest of thousands, a grain of millet in the vast sea.
All the disciples of the One Leaf Sect know that their master dotes most on their youngest junior brother, Qingchen. But Qingchen, who wears two little topknots that stick straight up, doesn't even know what his master looks like.
The universe has no limit, and the Great Dao has three thousand paths. The master says that people do not choose the Dao; the Dao chooses them.
In this world of the Five Turbidities, amid the surging mortal world, the master says, "Of three thousand waters, take only one dipper." If someone takes a dipper from this river, they should know that they have drunk all the waters of Jambudvipa.
Qingchen doesn't understand any of this. He yearns to exterminate demons and uphold the Dao, to travel across thousands of mountains and rivers and wipe out every demon and evil spirit. But what is his Dao? He still doesn't understand. He has never understood.
Cultivate immortality, catch ghosts, read stories, and fall in love.
(Hands on hips) Yeah, fall in love my ass.
