Scraps of the Apocalypse, Lying Flat

Tao Qin didn't want to work anymore. She wanted to lie flat. On her 164th consecutive day of overtime, she made a bold decision. She turned off her morning alarm and rolled over to go back to sleep. To hell with overtime, to hell with the boss, to hell with year-end performance reviews and the last-place firing system. But she never expected that when she woke up, she would find herself in a different world. Her entire courtyard, with her still inside it, had been transported to the apocalypse. Ability users and mutated monsters were fighting in her yard, banging away like woodpeckers in spring, only far more annoying. Wearing fluffy pajamas and shuffling along in her slippers, Tao Qin walked out of the house, still bleary-eyed. With one hand, she held back the ability user's blazing gun muzzle. With the other, she grabbed the monster by the throat of its fate.
