[My new book, The Ashen Orphan Girl's Comeback in the 1970s, is now available. Please add it to your reading list!]
[Please add my new book with the same male lead viewpoint, I'm Raising Pigs in the 1980s!]
Fang Yingli is a third-year agricultural student who failed a course after a classmate's pig trampled his vegetables. Before he could grab the classmate's assignment and roast it like suckling pig, he transmigrated into the body of a married villager with the same name in the early 1980s.
The villager's first wife died after giving birth. Just as he finally welcomed a new bride into the family, his parents were caught in a rainstorm and killed in a landslide while gathering medicinal herbs in the mountains. Rumors spread through the village that he brought misfortune to his father, mother, and wife, and that his new bride wouldn't live long either.
In a poor southern village where people still believed in feudal superstitions, the original owner fell seriously ill.
When Fang Yingli woke up, he saw the three-year-old toddler, his nine-year-old twin brother and sister, and the new bride...
His vision went black. Wasn't this even worse than failing a course?
The three-year-old was still babbling and tugging at his clothes, calling for food. His nine-year-old brother and sister were skinny and malnourished, yet obediently did housework without crying or fussing. And his new wife stayed by his side, caring for him as he lay sick in bed.
What could he do? Now that he'd transmigrated here, it was up to him to support this poor family.
Fortunately, farming was his forte.
But, new mom to the kids, you can take care of them all you want, just don't spend the family's two yuan and thirty cents on medicine!
Want to make a fortune in the remote countryside of the 1980s, with unfamiliar surroundings, harsh living conditions, and underdeveloped technology?
Better raise the kids first.
Not long afterward, Fang Yingli sighed as he stared at the raw manure in front of him while pinching the soft, adorable toddler's cheek. He gritted his teeth, rolled up his sleeves, and told himself: It's only raw manure. It's not like he's never seen it before!
Later...
Fang Yingli harvested rice in the fields.
His wife bundled the rice stalks on the ridge.
The children helped pick up the fallen grains.
He tilted his face toward the evening sun. Life seemed to get better the longer they lived it.
Much later, their family grew more and more prosperous. They moved to the city and into a big house...
[Please note]
1: This is a cozy slice-of-life story with two career arcs, a slow pace, and my own style. It's not a power fantasy.
2: There is no golden finger. The story is told from the male lead's perspective, the female lead is a local, and their lives gradually improve.
3: The story is set in a poor southern mountain village in the early 1980s. Some areas still have production teams that haven't been disbanded (spoilers omitted). There are some fictional elements. The male lead farms, the female lead runs a business, and they don't get rich overnight.
4: This is a million-word novel. If this sort of story isn't for you, feel free to click away. Please don't attack the author. Thank you!

I'm Raising Pigs in the 1980s
Blurb
Mo Zhou transmigrated.
He brought along the two piglets he'd just bought.
In an instant, he became a cautionary tale: a failed entrepreneur who had returned to his hometown to farm.
The villagers all said that Mo Zhou was good-looking but had his head in the clouds, with nothing between his ears, yet still dreamed of becoming a rich man.
Even his family urged him to marry into a well-off family and become their son.
Mo Zhou: No! I'm going to change my fate by raising pigs!
Older Brother: You've been sickly since childhood and have never worked in the fields. Forget raising pigs, you get out of breath just carrying a hoe.
Older Sister-in-law: We can't have another person sponging off the family.
Younger Sister: Second Brother, be good and listen to Older Brother and Sister-in-law.
Mo Zhou: ...
You really don't believe in me?
I really can raise pigs!!!
Notes:
1: The male lead really is great at raising pigs. He's a professional! (Of course, the author isn't.)
2: Slice of life, everyday family matters.
3: Male lead's perspective. The female lead is a local and doesn't appear until later.
The Ashen Orphan Girl's Comeback in the 1970s
When Wu Yaoyao woke up, she had transmigrated into a melodramatic period novel as an orphan girl who was destined to be a stepping stone for the male and female leads' romance.
After the original owner's grandfather died of an illness, a local thug harassed her. Luckily, the male lead arrived and chased him away.
The original owner was hopelessly lovesick. She fell for the male lead, who already had a girlfriend, and grew jealous of the female lead. Provoked by the male lead's rival, she did plenty of things to target the female lead. In the end, the male lead could take no more and drove her out of the village.
The original owner had once lived comfortably, but was ultimately tricked by the villain, losing both her money and everything she owned. She died miserably, with no one to claim her body.
When the lecherous thug came to harass the original owner, Wu Yaoyao chased him out with a broom.
Even as a helpless, delicate orphan, she wasn't going to let anyone bully her!
But without a man in the house, a girl with no family was never truly safe.
Wu Yaoyao quickly thought of the male lead's cousin, a powerful figure who was little more than a background character in the original novel. He was indifferent to women and never married.
She'd heard his family was pressuring him to get married.
Wouldn't a fake marriage and sharing a home be the perfect arrangement for both of them?
*
Everyone watched as Wu Yaoyao, who loved stirring up trouble, went further and further, winning over the village chief's son and having him run around doing her bidding all day.
The villagers all waited for the show.
But instead of seeing Wu Yaoyao get divorced, they watched her open a huge factory and build a thriving business. The aloof village chief's son became a complete henpecked husband, and the two of them had a son and a daughter.
Theme: Let's build a harmonious and friendly new society together

The copy is as follows: When he wakes up, Wu Yaoyao travels to a novel about the bloody era and becomes a cannon fodder orphan girl who is the stepping stone for the love between the male and female protagonists in the novel. After the original owner's grandfather fell ill and died, the original owner was harassed by gangsters in the village. Fortunately, the male protagonist arrived and helped the original owner drive away the gangsters. The original owner was a level 10 love brain who fell in love with the male protagonist who had a girlfriend. He was jealous of the female protagonist. Under the instigation of the male protagonist's love rival, he did many things against the female protagonist. In the end, the male protagonist couldn't bear it and was kicked out of the village. This made the original owner, who had a relatively good living condition, end up being tricked by the villain into losing both his life and property, and died tragically with no one to collect his body. The gangster came to tease the original owner, but Wu Yaoyao drove him out with a broom. Even if she becomes a weak and helpless orphan, she is not someone to be bullied! It's just that there is no man in the family, and she is always unsafe as an orphan with no relatives. Wu Yaoyao quickly thought of the male protagonist's cousin - the background boss in the original text, who was not a womanizer and never married. Seeing that Wu Yaoyao, who likes to be a monster, goes all out to hook up with the village chief's son, and orders the man to run around all day long. Everyone in the village was waiting to see the excitement. But instead of waiting for Wu Yaoyao to get divorced, they watched her open a large factory and her business was booming. The aloof village chief's son became an out-and-out wife slave, and they even gave birth to a son and a daughter.
