The Scholar's Art of Seduction [Imperial Exams]

Ye Xinrong looks at the earthen house, its walls full of holes that let in the light, and can't help sighing. Who could have imagined that she, a researcher at an agricultural science institute, would transmigrate to an unknown dynasty after dying from overwork? Her family is so poor they can barely afford food. She has a sickly husband and an elderly, ailing wet nurse. Unable to return to her own time, Ye Xinrong resigns herself to her fate and uses several dozen mu of neglected land belonging to her husband's family to grow a few things. She only intends to put food on the table. She never expects that, two years later, every piece of fruit she grows will be worth a fortune. Years later, her once-sickly husband, Bai Jingshi, becomes the new top scholar. After the palace examination, the emperor keeps him behind for a private audience. Bai Jingshi is nervous about meeting the emperor alone for the first time. He assumes the emperor wants to test his knowledge. Instead, the emperor asks amiably with a beaming smile, "My dear subject, I hear your wife grows a fruit called cherries. Could you bring me some to try?" Theme: Science and technology are the primary productive forces.
