They had known each other since the moment they were born, and Chu Tian had always thought that Shao Hui was his brother-in-arms for life.
At the foster center, Chu Tian was timid, introverted, and quiet. Shao Hui beat up everyone who bullied him. With a huge bump on his head and scrapes on his arms still bleeding, he put an arm around Chu Tian's shoulders and angrily announced to everyone:
"If you've got a problem with Chu Tian, you've got a problem with me, Shao Hui. Who wants to try me?!"
When they grew up and joined the air force, the once timid boy became a handsome, refined young man.
The former "bully" had also transformed into the cold, imposing, and commanding captain of the Sentinel, an idol admired by countless people. Elegant and debonair, he was the center of attention.
Until one day, Chu Tian's closest friend stood before him in uniform. The affectionate gaze beneath his cap was both familiar and strange. His usually cold face softened into a faint smile, a tender curve at the corner of his mouth.
Shao Hui stood in front of him and said:
"If I can, I hope you'll give me and the others a chance to compete."
"Compete? For what?" A trace of confusion showed in Chu Tian's eyes.
"For you."

Please add my next novel, ABO Sweet Romance in a Wealthy Family (title TBD), to your to-read list:
Han Xu, the eldest young master of the Han family, is the most coveted alpha in Binhai City. Cold and noble, with immense power and influence, he is destined to inherit the Han family's vast fortune and look down on the world.
Many people say that an alpha of his caliber is bound to have more than one partner. Whoever ends up with him will have endless money, but nothing else.
Amid all these rumors, Fang Wen became engaged to Han Xu.
"Just an ordinary college student who got lucky and married up to Young Master Han. Just wait. He'll be nothing but a pretty ornament. He won't be able to hold on to either Han's heart or his money."
What those people didn't know was that every morning, Fang Wen woke to a rosebud in the master bedroom of the Han family estate. For his birthday, Han Xu gave him a plane ticket to an island that had just been transferred into Fang Wen's name. And when words couldn't move him, Han Xu played the violin to lull him to sleep every night.
From everyday gestures to lavish indulgence, Han Xu presented everything to him as if it were a treasure.
"Whether you accept is your choice. But I want you to know that I'm pursuing you seriously." The man across the dining table was strikingly handsome. His tone was casual, but his eyes stayed fixed on Fang Wen.
"But..." Fang Wen still didn't understand. "Aren't we already married?"
"I want to be in love with you for the rest of my life," Han Xu blurted out.
I want to be in love with you for a lifetime, from the blazing summer of our youth to our silver-haired twilight years.
When we're old and looking back, Fang Wen will realize: the first time I saw you, I had already fallen in love with you and surrendered to you.
Your face is the most beautiful mark my life will ever bear.
-
Not long after their engagement, a doctor announced that Fang Wen's glands had developed abnormally. He couldn't be permanently marked yet. He first had to get used to Han Xu's pheromones, and once the marking began, it couldn't be interrupted.
An hour before his thesis defense, Fang Wen suddenly felt unwell. He realized he hadn't seen Han Xu all day and hurriedly called him.
Twenty minutes later, the principal and a group of trustees rushed out to welcome the eldest young master of the Han family, who had suddenly arrived to inspect the school.
Instead, Han Xu pulled Fang Wen into a small, dark room behind the auditorium and bit down on his gland from behind.
After the temporary marking, Fang Wen's legs went weak and his cheeks burned. He had no idea how to explain things to the people outside.
Han Xu put an arm around him as they walked out, then lazily told the confused trustees:
"Your student here wrote a good thesis. I'm very satisfied."
The trustees: ???
