Qiansha is a spirit-exorcising sorcerer, most skilled at controlling ghosts and gods. She likes braised pig trotters and Liu Hongsu, and hates those melodramatic human dramas where everyone is on the verge of dying. She came from the Palace Beneath the Perilous Realm, yearning for lands she could never set foot on and distant horizons she could never see the end of.
For those who can't stand her ways, she says, "I make my way through the martial world by caring nothing for right or wrong, good or evil, or righteousness, and by having no shame." To those she can actually tolerate, she says, "You are woefully ill-informed. Please take good care of yourself."
She roams the martial world with a secret no one knows, meeting a pair of cousins who love each other deeply but have no choice but to stab one another in the back; a wealthy young master who adores the most beautiful person in the human world but has no love for the immortal in the painting; and a female chancellor who has the whole world in her heart but dies at the hands of her own son. After meeting all these people, Qiansha finally understands that the affairs of the world are like a draft passing through a doorway: cold one moment, warm the next, never still. Better to be like her, arriving and leaving with nothing to hold her back.
Though she says that, is she really free of all attachments?
