At first--
Qiao Xi accompanied her best friend to sit in on Xie Yibai's class.
Her friend introduced him: "This is Professor Xie from our department, the famous killer. Countless students fail his class every year."
Qiao Xi looked up. The man at the lectern wore a crisp shirt and had an elegant air. His indifferent gaze swept over the students below.
She found she couldn't look away.
Later--
Word spread around campus that Professor Xie had a girl he cherished like a treasure. Her name was Qiao Xi.
Everyone was curious how she'd managed to win her teacher's heart.
Xie Yibai chuckled softly. "I was the one who pursued her, and promised her a lifetime together."
One day--
During her boyfriend's class, Qiao Xi sketched his profile in her notebook.
Her friend said, "You drew your Professor Xie just as handsome as he is. So cool and restrained."
She studied the drawing, then shook her head thoughtfully. "No, he's clearly a beast in fine clothes, a gentlemanly scoundrel."
Her friend offered a sincere warning: "You'll be in trouble if he hears you badmouthing your teacher."
Qiao Xi turned her head and smiled, looking entirely unafraid of death.
Who could have guessed that a moment later, a slender hand reached over from behind and tapped her desk. His eyes flickered as he spoke in a low, pleasant voice:
"Student, come to my office after class."
"..."
Afterward, Qiao Xi left the office and touched her swollen, tingling lips, remembering the way Xie Yibai had just kissed her.
Ha! Who said he was the cool and restrained type?!
