[Nation-Building] My Son Is Qin Shi Huang

Notice: This story will be put behind a paywall on the 25th. I'll post ten thousand words that day, so I hope you'll support me! When Zhao Xin and Ying Zheng first arrived in Qin, nobody gave the mother and son a second glance. Everyone said Zhao Xin was nothing but a lowly dancer, and that she would never have had a chance to enter the palace if she hadn't borne a child. Ying Zheng was just an illegitimate son, unloved and unlikely to amount to anything, no matter how clever he was. And yet... Zhao Xin brought forth countless advanced ideas, adding tens of thousands of hectares of fertile farmland, filling the people's granaries and wardrobes, and greatly strengthening Qin's military; Ying Zheng established schools and appointed capable officials, ensuring the court's decrees were carried out, uniting the Seven States, and bringing every nation to its knees; The people rejoiced and sang the praises of their wise rulers; The soldiers stood tall and offered them their unwavering loyalty; The nobles crawled on the ground, forced to bow their lofty heads... By then, the First Emperor had ascended the throne, and the Empress Dowager ruled in his stead. From Mount Tai, Zhao Xin gazed out over the magnificent land stretching to the horizon. At last, she couldn't help patting Ying Zheng on the shoulder. “Son, how would you like to build a new world?” Note: This is a fictional setting, so please don't nitpick the history! ==★New story now underway: *Building a Great Qin Through Gaming*★== Qin Zhen came across a game on a forum that advertised its virtual reality gimmick. The headset was free, so after some hesitation, she signed up. Who knew she'd get ambushed in the game by a toddler clinging to her leg and calling her Mom? Huh? Isn't this a farming game? Why do I have to raise a kid? Fortunately, the kid's dad soon showed up. Unfortunately, he immediately accused her of being a child kidnapper and said she deserved to die, then threatened to send her off to build the Great Wall! Wait, who are you calling a kidnapper? And build the Great Wall? Who do you think you are, Ying Zheng? Much later... Wait, you really are him? - It was the eighth year of the Qin king's reign, and natural disasters and strange omens were wreaking havoc across the country. To secure his throne and take the reins of government as soon as possible, Ying Zheng proposed trading books from the pre-Qin era for high-yield crop seeds. High-yield crop seeds? Qin Zhen's eyes lit up: wheat, corn, hybrid rice, potatoes, sweet potatoes, red peppers... All kinds of varieties, high yields, and great taste! Whatever you can think of, I've got it! And that's not all... Terraced fields and land contracted to individual households? Compulsory education and civil service examinations? Water conservancy projects, cement construction, and paved roads? Salt from seawater and experimental special economic zones? Military farms and battlefield first-aid training? No problem at all! As long as the rewards are good enough, building a prosperous Qin is no dream! P.S. Parallel world. Theme: Get the ideas right, and even a tyrant can become a sweet little darling.
