Summer Breeze Rushes Into My Arms

[Omitted for now. To be posted after the paywall is removed.] When Xia An was sixteen, she stayed with the Lu family. Next door lived Lu Huai, who was half a year older than her. At sixteen or seventeen, Lu Huai was antisocial, cold, fierce, and bad-tempered, a demon king no one dared provoke. Xia An fell for Lu Huai at first sight and pursued him with abandon. He rejected her with ruthless indifference: "Even if every woman in the world were dead, I still wouldn't date you." Xia An chased him for months but got nowhere, and gradually gave up. Although they lived under the same roof, they slowly became strangers. Years later, at a class reunion, their classmates brought up Xia An's one-sided pursuit of Lu Huai as a joke. Xia An smiled coldly. "Did that happen? I don't remember." Lu Huai took a hard drag on his cigarette. The smoke filled his lungs, choking him until tears nearly came to his eyes. Pale blue smoke veiled his face as his eyes reddened and fury rose inside him. As the reunion drew to a close, their classmates left the private room and saw, in the dimly lit corridor Lu Huai gripping Xia An's chin, his voice cold and fierce. "Forgotten? You haven't forgotten those days we spent sneaking around under the same roof, have you? I climbed through your window for two whole years." Everyone was stunned. No one had imagined the two of them had shared that kind of history. Lu Huai went on. "Have you forgotten how I used to mess with you, too? Come on, let me jog your memory!" As everyone looked on in shock, he fiercely kissed Xia An on the lips.
