Building Infrastructure in Wu and Yue

Lin Shuyue, a deputy chief engineer at the national level, transmigrates and becomes bound to the [Kindling of Civilization Plan System]. To secure a place for herself, she carries blueprints she drew on the fly with the System's help and offers her services to Qian Liu, who is currently the Jiedushi of Zhenhai. She even makes a solemn military pledge to solve the problem of the new city wall cracking within a month...

Qian Liu trusts her and gives her free rein. In return, she gives him an impregnable city. He withstands everyone's criticism of her and entrusts her with important work. She builds him a stone seawall and dredges the West Lake waterways.

Thanks to these three major infrastructure projects, the impregnable city, the seawall, and the dredging of West Lake, merchants flock to Hangzhou, and golden waves of rice stretch across its fields. It becomes a paradise in troubled times, one that everyone longs for.

From then on, she becomes a revered master engineer and a treasure coveted by all the major powers.

To keep her by his side, Qian Liu arranges her marriage to his eldest legitimate son, Qian Chuanying, hoping to bind this peerless strategist to him through family ties.

But Lin Shuyue refuses, saying, "My life's ambition is to bring peace to rivers and seas and make roads passable, not to become a wife confined to one household."

Lin Shuyue thinks the matter is over, but not long afterward, Qian Chuanying comes to see her and says with conviction, "I know your ambitions lie beyond being a wife confined to one household. So I don't ask you to confine your heart and body to the inner quarters. I only ask for a title that would let me stand openly by your side."

"..." Faced with such candid, fervent words, Lin Shuyue is speechless.
