Su Fujian is a feminist blogger who runs a popular account promoting women's rights. A feminist and an advocate of remaining unmarried, she loves to call out misogynistic men and flirt with her female followers. She's an independent 21st-century woman with ideals and talent, and she's healthy in both body and mind.
She never expected to wake up one day and find herself transmigrated in the most old-fashioned way: into the body of a concubine in the most feudal, patriarchal imperial harem. As a clearheaded feminist, how is she supposed to survive the palace intrigue and outwit all these men and women with “backward minds,” then carve out a broad road to a happy (miserable) life?
There's a misogynistic emperor on one side and a mysterious friend to women on the other. Which of them will bring her true happiness?
(Historical romance + palace intrigue + feminism: an unconventional mix and an ever-changing plot. Ladies, please add this to your favorites and leave a comment! Along with the palace intrigue, I promise there'll be sweet romance too~)
P.S. The author is terrible at history, so the palace system in this story isn't rigorous, and it doesn't use overly affected “ancient-style language.” Please don't flame me if that's not your thing, but suggestions are welcome. Thank you!
[A few words and a heads-up]: To be honest, I don't even like palace intrigue dramas. I only started writing this because I suddenly came up with the idea, so please don't expect a serious palace intrigue story. There's no proper palace scheming here (laughs). After all, promoting feminism in the imperial harem is pretty unrealistic to begin with. If this followed the conventions of a serious palace intrigue drama, the heroine probably wouldn't survive two episodes (wry laugh). Why does nobody punish the heroine for all the outrageous things she does? Don't worry, I can explain it. Besides the golden finger I gave her, the two male leads are also secretly protecting her and pulling strings for her.
I really don't like writing women tearing each other apart, so there won't be any of those scenes from traditional palace intrigue dramas where concubines slap each other around. Nor will there be a plot where a clever, scheming woman wins the emperor's favor, pushes out the empress, and takes her place. Su Fujian is just Su Fujian: an independent feminist who strives to achieve gender equality, step by step, in both thought and action.
I know it's idealistic, but aren't novels meant to make ideals come true?
What's going on? Why are you still doting on me? This progress... Emmmmm, woman, have you successfully attracted my attention?
I will wait for the little sister to come back!
