The Matchmaking Failed, But I Became a Consort Instead (Reborn)

Originally titled Chasing My Wife

In an age when women were expected to be virtuous rather than talented,

Wen Erjin's intelligence showed too plainly. In her previous life, a hypocrite drugged and framed her, taking her virtue and making her a concubine. The whole Wen family was disgraced because of her.

Reborn on the day of the matchmaking that changed her fate, Wen Erjin immediately climbs out a window to escape. But someone intercepts her on the way and takes her away. After a night together, she loses her virtue, but not to become a concubine. She is to become a princess consort.

Wen Erjin curtsies and urges him, “Your Highness, you are as handsome as an immortal and of the imperial lineage. You could have any woman you want. Why fixate on me, Wen Erjin?”

The Ninth Prince smiles lazily. “Something happened to me when I was a child, and it left a deep impression. As an adult, I developed a strange problem: I can't be near women. Wen Erjin, you made me break that rule. How can you not take responsibility for me from now on?”

[He laughs that his heart was once as hard as iron, yet it too was softened by a woman's tender touch]
