Sun and Moon

The moment I looked up, I froze. The Pope, far away from me, gave me a smile. He continued reading the liturgy, and just as he was nearing the end, he said:

"May the Lord bless you."

"Perseus."

That name was forbidden. He mouthed it, and it was quickly swallowed by silence, as if it were a secret between the two of us. The Pope hadn't blessed everyone. He had blessed only me.

May the Lord bless you, Perseus.

You alone.

This story takes some inspiration from the Middle Ages, but it is set in a fictional world.

Important: The story is a mash-up of myths, with no distinction between Western European, Norse, and Greek mythology. I may know the categories I've made up better than you do. I'm just telling a story. If this bothers you, click away; this story isn't for you.

The male lead is based on Zhou Qiluo, but it wouldn't be quite right to call this a Mr Love fanfic. Think of it as an alternate-universe fanfic.
