A freshly graduated university student joins the Longfan City Criminal Investigation Team.
She majored in criminal psychology, but she's also a bona fide new detective.
Clear-headed, quick-witted, meticulous, steady, and rigorous in her work.
But... in her personal life, Fang Yunshu is a famously sharp-tongued, scheming, says-one-thing-and-means-another, rotten-brained female hooligan.
She loves teasing Qin Ming, trading barbs with Lin Tao, and finding all sorts of ways to "confess" to Li Dabao.
She "rejects" her teammate, little Lin Tao, in every way imaginable.
They say a female detective just joined the Criminal Investigation Team, and she's a rising star in criminal psychology.
A certain poker-faced, aloof, chaste, taciturn, yet secretly flirtatious and eccentric chief medical examiner, Qin Ming.
Qin Ming, without changing expression and acting as if it has nothing to do with him: "A woman? Wasn't it a man?"
Lin Tao shrugs. "Why panic? You don't mind having a beauty around, do you?"
Qin Ming: "...That species only causes trouble."
...Fang Yunshu: "...Then your species is pretty rare too. I bow to your superior wisdom."
Qin Ming closes his eyes, utterly unruffled. "Shut up. You're so noisy."
A certain team captain, Lin Tao, looks like a tough guy overflowing with testosterone, but is actually a coward who's scared of ghosts, a joker, and a menace to his friends. He gets thoroughly rejected.
Fang Yunshu can't help rolling her eyes. "What kind of filthy words are you filling your head with? Could you try thinking like a normal person?"
Lin Tao: "Am I? I was just giving my opinion."
Fang Yunshu drives her elbow viciously into Lin Tao's stomach. "Your opinion is an orgasm?! Take that disgusting brain of yours and go die!"
A certain Fang Yunshu has Dabao completely under her thumb, calling her "Big Brother."
Fang Yunshu: "Brother Bao, Brother Bao!! Don't panic! I'll cheer you on!"
"Brother Bao, Brother Bao, I found an earth-shattering secret! Qin the Great and Lin the Tease are having an affair!"
Li Dabao, gossiping with a knowing grin: "What a coincidence. I thought so too. Hehehe."
This is the story of four oddballs with extraordinary ways of thinking, who gradually uncover the truth behind a conspiracy as they solve cases. They investigate strange letters stained with blood, uncover the causes of bizarre incidents, and search through darkness and sin for the truth. Strange hands, a Buddha's heart, and a veil of mystery.
Death isn't the end. It's the beginning.

I haven't decided on the pairings, so it'll probably be something like this:
Qin Ming x Lin Tao (best buddies and partners, purely platonic)
Qin Ming x Li Dabao (work partners who can't stand each other)
Qin Ming x Fang Yunshu (an extremely awkward relationship, with a sweet little spark of understanding)
Lin Tao x Fang Yunshu (partners who naturally become a bickering couple, with a very "official" flirtation)
Fang Yunshu x Li Dabao (women-loving-women is the best: the silly Brother Bao and her chuuni fangirl's everyday "catching them in the act" antics)
