Married a Country Bumpkin After Losing My Memory

Shen Mingmei was the legitimate daughter of the Great General Zhenyuan, and her maternal grandfather was the chief minister of the court. Her paternal aunt was the favored consort of the imperial harem. She herself was so beautiful she put peach blossoms and plums to shame, earning her the title of the capital's number one beauty. She was also the perfect candidate for Crown Princess.

That was until her maternal grandfather became embroiled in a treason case, and her father, in the name of righteousness, sent her mother to prison before grandly marrying a new wife.

With nowhere else to turn, Shen Mingmei had no choice but to seek help from Prince Chu, Chen Che, whom she had once looked down on, rejected in marriage, and humiliated!

Unfortunately, Chen Che rejected her too.

In the end, Shen Mingmei could only follow her exiled mother to the far north. On the way, she encountered bandits and tried to kill herself by smashing her head against a wall. A passing man rescued her and took her to a werewolf tribe.

Atabu was a complete country bumpkin, illiterate and good for little but his considerable strength. When he realized Shen Mingmei couldn't remember a thing, his mind started working at once. He called her his wife and told her they were a loving couple, devoted to each other.

Shen Mingmei believed him. They had children together and lived happily as a couple, until one day Crown Prince Chen Sheng found her.

"Aheng, I've had such a hard time finding you!"

Then she remembered everything from her past...

A little scene:

When Shen Mingmei woke, her whole body was trembling. Looking pitiful and frightened, she asked, "Where am I? Who am I?"

Atabu, who had been looking worried, immediately broke into a smile and pulled her into his arms, gently soothing her. "My wife, how could you forget even your own husband? I'm so heartbroken."

Tears welled in Shen Mingmei's eyes, and she blinked, her lashes trembling. Holding her head in both hands, she said, "Husband? My head hurts. I didn't mean to forget you."

Atabu kissed her forehead. "Don't cry, my wife. Your husband will take care of everything. You once said you liked Swallow Island, so I bought it yesterday. Today, I'll give it to you."
