The League of Legends season came to an end. During the interview, a reporter asked, "XY's players, why did you choose to become professional gamers?"
- "I just play games. I don't really want to do anything else."
- "My grades were terrible... I figured I'd make a living playing esports."
- "The money comes fast! I'll play for a couple of years, build up a following, then start streaming."
- "I heard you can get recommended for college if you're good at esports?"
- "Of course, it's so I can get closer to my idol! Haha~"
Reporter: "...Wasn't anyone driven by a dream of esports?"
"I was," said MZX, the former XY jungler, taking the microphone from the seat beside him. "But I've retired and become a coach."
The host hurried to smooth things over. "XY's players sure are hilarious! Hahahaha! Anyway... XY is owned by China's famous Xcellent Yam dessert chain, and that's where the team's name comes from."
The jungler AM blurted out, "Huh? Really? I always thought it meant the Salty Fish team."
Their sponsor could pay for a spot in the LPL, but it couldn't buy them a dream. And so, a team was cobbled together from a bunch of laid-back players with no esports dreams.
Other teams entered the arena as five heroes with dreams in their hearts, ready to sweep the LPL, crush the LMS, and kick the LCK's butt. XY lined up as five fish too lazy to roll over. They weren't playing League of Legends, but Salty Fish League.
